Our Client is a manufacture of surfactants and specialty chemicals. The primary purpose of this position is to provide technical assistance to the clients Crop Solutions' customers to sustain the current businesses and develop new business at these customers. The position can accomplish the goal through customer relationship building, by new product development, and/or application services in conjunction with technical presentations, etc.


General Job Overview:

  • Ensure products meet the client's exact standards (internal and external). Conducts research and directs lab work for such purposes as product/application development, etc. Devises and develops ways and methods for solution of technical problems. Possesses a full understanding of the uses and applications of existing products and related product lines. Develops new product concepts including proprietary blends using both products and co-producer products. Compiles applications information specific to the product line and interfaces with internal and external customers to solve specific product needs.
  • Lead product and process developments for the crop protection, agrochemical, and related markets.  Applies the concepts of Life Cycle Assessment, following the development from cradle-to-grave, throughout the whole process with its all interfaces as needed.  
  • Independently evaluates, selects, and apply standard chemistry / agronomic knowledge to solve customer or company objectives based on direct customer interactions. Devises new techniques or incorporates new methods to achieve objectives. Able to present results external customers.  Works on regional level and interacts with global level. 
  • Key Account technical relationship management—grows customer intimacy on various levels with key, strategic, and regional accounts. 
  • Actively develop new opportunities/concepts that deliver value to customers in order to meet business targets, 
  • Keep track of customer interaction or calls by reporting on CRM platform (Sales Force)
  • Develops laboratory outlines to meet both internal and external customer expectations. 
  • Developing methods for applications testing to prove claims.  
  • Maintain an awareness of the literature and other sources of information to remain current with developments in the area of functional products of interest to the Corporation.
  • Work with sales team to evaluate, select and apply standard chemistry techniques, and procedures to solve customer or company objectives under the direction of the R&D management.
  • Independently evaluate, select and apply standard chemistry techniques and procedures to solve customer or company objectives based on direct customer interactions. 
  • Able to present results to internal and external customers.
  • Present work at public forums like conferences
  • Works on regional level. Considered a regional expert.
  • Manage regional & global driven to key, strategic, and regional accounts (including planning, budgeting, and engaging project team) using company's systems such as PMOx.

Requirements:

  • M.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Biochemistry, or Polymer Chemistry/Engineering required. 
  • PhD. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Biochemistry, or Polymer Chemistry/Engineering is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Agrochemical formulations: pesticides functions / active ingredients / types of formulations / experimental methodologies / regulatory framework in Ag / agronomy required
  • Project management
  • R&D laboratory experience required.
  • Surfactants knowledge in laboratory or application use strongly preferred,
  • Excellent organizational and communications skills
  • Computer literacy w/ databases, word processing, spreadsheets
  • Demonstrated presentation skills required
  • Availability to travel about 40% of the time.  Mostly within USA but some international travel is expected.
  • Must work well in a team and cross-functional and matrix environment.
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented.

Level and compensation dependent on job compatibility and experience in the Agrochemicals.

Maintenance Manager #2860 (Southern - Texas)

Our Client is a manufacture of surfactants and specialty chemicals. The Maintenance Manager will provide leadership and direction in maintenance & construction activities to achieve the planned volume of products from the chemical plant. This position will ensure that all maintenance procedures/process are in place to drive a safe, environmentally and efficient operation of the plant assets. This position will develop and institute the relationships between the EHS Department, Production Department, Technical Department and corporate support groups.


Responsibilities


  • Right-size and Right-shape the organization
  • Mechanical Integrity – develop and implement a MI program that, at minimum, meets PSM Standards
  • Complete review and update of department SOPs
  • Develop a list of simple but predictive of performance KPIs, baseline those and begin tracking

Critical Equipment List

  • Develop equipment list
  • Develop critical spare parts inventory strategy and begin to implement
  • Start acquiring critical spare parts and getting them on our shelves
  • Mechanical Integrity

Maximo Project

  • Get all inventory properly loaded into Maximo (location, quantity and value) and implement strong control over inventory
  • Use Maximo for scheduling Technician work and use to collect data
  • Begin building BOMs for common jobs

Reliability Improvement

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the current PM program
  • Develop a strategy for Predictive Maintenance
  • Develop a strategy for other reliability improvement programs
  • Begin implementation

Technician Management

  • Perform a wrench time analysis – use results to address recurrent losses
  • Develop and implement a performance management program
  • Evaluate Technician skills, identify gaps and located appropriate resources for training

  • Accredited Bachelor Of Science Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent or 15 – 20 years of experience in maintenance supervision
  • Chemical Plant Batch Operations
  • Experience with rotating and fixed equipment
  • Construction management & field construction supervision
