Summary

Implements, promotes, and supports the agronomy program of the local branch by precisely blending and custom-applying fertilizers and crop protection products based on knowledge, maps, recommendations and label directions.


Job Duties

  • Implements, promotes, and supports the agronomy program.
  • Precisely blends and custom applies fertilizers and agricultural chemicals based on recommendations and label directions.
  • Performs jobs safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Maintains facility and equipment so that they have a good appearance and are always in working order.
  • Performs mechanic work on selected vehicles.
  • Completes applicator logs and reports.
  • Keeps the Branch Manager informed of product inventory levels that could restrict application or delivery schedules.
  • Keeps facility, equipment, application, and inspection records as required.
  • Loads and unloads inbound and outbound inventory.
  • Willingness to work holidays and/or overtime hours if/when the season demands.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

Valid CDL with required endorsements. Possession of license or immediate ability to obtain. An applicator's license that meets the minimum compliance requirements of the regulatory state in which the applicator operates.


Other Skills and Abilities

The ability to utilize and operate variable rate technology and GPS guidance systems.
