This position will report to the Regional Sales Manager and will be responsible for assisting in the growth and profitability of the Energy division through effective sales and customer service.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    •    Conduct outside sales of energy products and related equipment within the trade territory as directed.
    •    Some travel required for training/education; away from home required a few times during the year.
    •    Work with the energy management team to develop new or improved sales programs.
    •    Work with other company divisions in conjunction with the cross sell approach with agronomy and grain.
    •    Assist in the coordinating of billing and delivering of energy products sold in the sales area.
    •    Adhere to all company and government policies and laws concerning transportation and handling of petroleum and propane products.
    •    Accurately and efficiently complete all the necessary paperwork.
    •    Provide friendly, courteous customer service.
    •    Project a favorable image of the company to promote its objectives and foster a positive attitude toward co-workers and customers.
    •    Work varied hours/days as business dictates.
    •    All other jobs assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    •    Ability to lift 50 pounds
    •    Ability to read, count, ad complete forms and documents

    •    Must have high school diploma or equivalent

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Report to agronomy manager and report a minimum of 3-5 daily sales calls
  • Build and maintain relationship with all assigned customers from initial contact, through to sale, and follow up, as necessary
    • Meet with existing and potential customers
    • Includes prospecting and cold calls
  • Develop agronomy plans for current customers
  • Utilize seed programs and grow the seed business 
    • Includes test plots and side by sides
  • Create written estimates, based on needs of customer, and finalize the sale
  • Maintain customer files/records/history/contracts/agreements
  • Coordinate with other reps the delivery of customer appreciation holiday gifts
  • Research and write two articles for the quarterly newsletter

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in an agricultural field. (E.g. Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Education, Agronomy, Business, etc.) or
  • Minimum of three years experience in agriculture sales or management
  • Extended hours during peak seasons are required
