District Sales Manager #2776 (DE, VA, MD - Delaware)

The District Sales Manager position is responsible to carry out all sales and marketing activities in DelMarVa so as to maintain, develop and grow the overall sales volume in that territory in a manner which maximizes profitability.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan and organize sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business goals.
  • Plan and develop dealer/distributor network in specified territory according to agreed market development strategy.
  • Motivate dealers and distributors to promote the portfolio of products and services.
  • Educate growers, dealers & distributors on new products.
  • Conduct direct farm visits to growers in order to promote and sell the portfolio of products.
  • Conduct direct visits to dealers and distributors to assist in selling the portfolio of products.
  • Sell and service equipment related to application of the fertilizer products.
  • Install and help to install equipment as related to the application of the fertilizer products.
  • Sell storage tanks as related to storage of the fertilizer products.
  • Deliver fertilizer, parts & equipment and storage tanks to dealers and farmers as required.
  • Conduct grower meetings to promote the use of the products. 
  • Attend farm shows to promote the use of the products and services.
  • Locate and develop test plot locations as it relates to the research & development program.
  • Manage and collect accounts receivable as required to keep receivables current.
  • Perform any other duties as may be required from time to time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural field preferred
  • 3 or more years of experience in agricultural sales role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel, 75% overnight travel required
  • Excellent computer skills, Microsoft Office, CRM, etc.
This job requires an agronomy background. The job also requires a degree in agriculture and the ability to cold call and face-to-face sales call customers, retailers and farmers.

We have an exciting retail agronomy sales opportunity with a large full service Ag Retailer in West Central Ohio. This company offers a competitive salary, bonus, health, dental and vision insurance, company truck and 401k.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Report to agronomy manager and report a minimum of 3-5 daily sales calls
  • Build and maintain relationship with all assigned customers from initial contact, through to sale, and follow up, as necessary
    • Meet with existing and potential customers
    • Includes prospecting and cold calls
  • Develop agronomy plans for current customers
  • Utilize seed programs and grow the seed business 
    • Includes test plots and side by sides
  • Create written estimates, based on needs of customer, and finalize the sale
  • Maintain customer files/records/history/contracts/agreements
  • Coordinate with other reps the delivery of customer appreciation holiday gifts
  • Research and write two articles for the quarterly newsletter
    • Product pricing and promotion
    • Growing season news and notes
    • Helpful tips
    • New laws or regs
    • Other pertinent information, etc
  • Attend meetings, seminars, courses, or on-line study to complete Continuing Education credits as needed to maintain licenses and credentials
  • Perform scouting duties for customer base throughout growing season for short and long term product and/or services
    • Identification of weeds/insects/diseases/nutrient deficiencies
    • Determine recommendation of products/services including proper rate and timing
    • Share recommendations with customer and agree on plan of action
  • Complete all order sheets and paperwork for any sales of product or services including deliveries.
    • Fill out order sheets completely and accurately
    • Attach GIS field maps 
    • Work with logistics manager to schedule jobs
  • Work with AR dept with customer questions
  • Follow other management directives for the good of the business and other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have experience in agronomy input sales and a working knowledge of Northern Ohio farm production practices.

A manufacturer of seed inoculants and treatments is seeking a Regional sales professional for Kentucky, Illinois, and Missouri.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Regional Sales Manager in creating demand across all levels of the channel to include assigned distributors, retailers and growers. The candidate will assist in and implement marketing direction, assist in managing territory resources, and provide customer service.



Specific responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Company's product brand awareness at assigned distributor, retailer level.
  • Execution of retailer and grower segmentation and demand creation actions.
  • Deliver product performance service and support at grower and retailer level.
  • Provide consistent and timely communication with assigned distributor representatives.
  • Clarify marketplace dynamics and trends with in-depth analysis and review.
  • Compile monthly reporting of market conditions to identify opportunities, emerging challenges and competitive activity.
  • Manage expenses and resources in an effective, timely and ethical manner.
  • Communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner across all levels of assigned customers and the internal organization.Candidate must possess a strong work ethic, self-motivation, timely and consistent communication skills, and be capable of managing multiple projects and requests.


REQUIRED:
  • AA or Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of Field Sales, Marketing and/or Technical Service Experience, to include account management.
  • Intermediate computer skills required to generate sales support materials, sales reports, analyze market trends and accurately fulfill marketing programs.
  • Highly motivated and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting and/or individually.
  • Results oriented with demonstrated ability to direct the sales process and conversation in a purposeful, out-come based manner.
  • Must be able to travel and stay out over extended periods of time.

PREFERRED:
  • Agronomy sales, territory management or retail / distribution sales.
  • Agronomy related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Plant Science, Business, Marketing, Biology or related field.
