Job Summary:
An Agronomy Sales Associate is responsible for coordinating the sale of supply products and services that will optimize company's market share, efficiency and profitability. The Agronomy Sales Associate will work with growers to promote the proper use of crop protection products, crop nutrients, seed and other services offered by the company, through the utilization of on-farm sales presentations. These duties must be achieved all while upholding company's mission, goals and values, and ultimately result in outstanding customer service.

Essential Duties:
  • Lead and initiate sales calls with target growers in an assigned area to promote company's products and services
  • Employ a majority of available time with growers at their operations, in an effort to earn their business
  • Conduct interactions with growers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Create, recommend and market specific agronomy programs for target accounts, with the goal of increasing agronomy business
  • Utilize seed, Progressive Crop Technology products, precision farming solutions and other marketing tools to grow market share
  • Establish and maintain "State of the Art" knowledge of agronomy practices, and the ability to promote and implement these practices with growers
  • Identify with team strengths and utilize in improving efficiency and profitability
  • Coordinate with location managers/dispatchers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of product and services
  • Submit reports in a timely, accurate manner, as required by the manager
  • Adhere to compliance of all national and state agronomy regulations
  • Promote and uphold company's safety culture; in addition to governmental regulations
  • Accept responsibility for personal development in professional sales skills and technical training
  • Maintain and develop technology, time management and communication skills
  • Meet with manager semi-annually to discuss and evaluate job expectations and responsibilities
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in an agricultural field. (E.g. Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Education, Agronomy, Business, etc.) or
  • Minimum of three years experience in agriculture sales or management
  • Extended hours during peak seasons are required
