Plant Manager #2805 (Southeast - Illinois)

BROAD FUNCTION AND OBJECTIVE

Supervises the operations, distribution and application processes of an agricultural retail distributor, assuring timely and efficient production, shipment and application of high quality product at the least cost.  Ensures the preservation of plant assets.



MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organizes, develops and manages the operations, maintenance, security, inventory, delivery and application functions for the plant, including implementation of policies, procedures, and performance standards for these functions which lead to the timely and efficient production, distribution and application of high quality products at the least cost.

  • Recruits, hires, trains, recommends salary levels, corrective action, termination, and guides and evaluates personnel in accordance with Company policy and all applicable federal, state and local regulatory requirements, including but not limited to safety, health, environmental, flammability standards and Equal Employment Opportunity and wage and hour statutes.

  • In conjunction with the General Manager, responsible for developing and attaining operating and other plant performance objectives.
Responsible for developing standard operating practices / methods and ensuring compliance with standards.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a qualified and skilled workforce.  Establish production schedules and personnel requirements, evaluate and organize training requirements to improve personnel and ensure regulatory compliance, and facilitate plant safety meetings.

  • Develop an effective customer service program to attain the delivery, cost and quality objectives designed to achieve the company's image of high quality products and superior customer service that provides the absolute best value to our consumers.
  • Develops recommendations for annual and long-term business plans, capital improvements, work process changes and overall management procedures in conjunction with the General Manager.

This position will sell fertilizer, crop protection products, seed, and service that will optimize the company's market share and savings, help achieve the Company's mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.
  • Work with Agronomy Division Manager to establish yearly sales goals.
  • Maintain delivery schedules and sales to customers, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Make regular sales calls on all potential customers in the trade area.
  • Make proper recommendations and applications of products sold.
  • Assist in developing competitive marketing strategies.
  • Provide the service necessary to meet goals and objectives. This includes: responding to customer calls promptly, encouraging repeat sales by enhancing the profitability of customers, and maintaining proficiency in retail sales and knowledge of appropriate programs.

Job Description and Qualifications

  • Two or four year degree in Agribusiness, or related program or equivalent previous experience.

Job Summary:
  • Maintenance Technician should strive to exceed production requirements for the assigned plant while staying within quality control parameters.
  • Responsible for maintaining all of the plant equipment
  • Supporting the maintenance needs of the plant personnel.
  • Efficient in having plant ready for production upon start up of shift.
  • Ensure all employees practice plant safety.
  • Assist supervisors when needed as to equipment, personnel, etc.
  • Make sure plant is organized and clean.
  • Assist in special projects outlined by Plant Supervisor.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by Plant Supervisor.

5 years of equipment maintenance experience is required.
